CLIPPYTAG BETA PREVIEW

Privacy

Updated 20 October 2026.

This is a publicly accessible beta preview. Purchases are not active. The operator’s legal identity, privacy contact and final retention policy must be published before public launch.

Video files and your signature

Uploaded files, video previews, caption audio and exported MP4s are processed on your device. ClippyTag does not upload local clips to a server video library. Download your result before leaving the page: closing or reloading the editor loses the current editor clip, captions and export. If you choose “Add signature & captions” from a download result, the downloaded clip is placed temporarily in this browser’s IndexedDB to transfer it to the editor without another download. The same local transfer can preserve the current clip and caption edits when you choose to sign in from the editor. The editor accepts that transfer for up to 10 minutes and deletes it when consumed. An abandoned transfer can remain on the device until the next transfer replaces it or you clear this site’s browser storage; the expiry does not automatically erase an unopened browser database.

Your chosen signature, caption style and spoken language are saved in this browser’s local storage. It is not synced between devices. Use “Reset saved signature” in the editor to remove the signature. Clear this site’s browser data to remove caption preferences and local transfer data as well. Private browsing or blocked storage may prevent it from being saved.

Optional speech recognition

Enabling automatic captions downloads a Whisper model from Hugging Face and runtime assets from jsDelivr. Those providers receive the network information needed to deliver the files, including your IP address. Your speech audio stays on your device. Model files may be cached by the browser; clearing the site’s stored data removes application settings, while model caches may also need to be cleared in browser storage settings.

TikTok downloads

When you submit a TikTok link, it is sent to TikWM to locate a downloadable video. Public source metadata, including the available media URL, title and author, may be cached at the hosting edge for up to two minutes to avoid repeat provider requests. Video bytes are retrieved from the provider or its media delivery hosts. Depending on browser support, requests go directly from your browser or through ClippyTag’s server proxy. Source downloads and server-assisted retrieval do not require sign-in. Short-term abuse protection hashes the ingress IP address with a day-specific input; the application stores the resulting pseudonymous counter key rather than the raw IP address. These hashes are pseudonymous, not guaranteed anonymous. Counters older than two minutes are removed when new requests arrive; hosting infrastructure may separately process network addresses for delivery and security. External providers process network and request information under their own policies. Do not submit private links or sensitive information.

ClippyTag does not ask for a TikTok password, connect your TikTok account or publish to it. It is independent of TikTok and Twitch.

Account and export records

The hosting platform handles ChatGPT sign-in. ClippyTag uses the site-specific account identifier to associate editor usage with your account. Its server database stores that identifier, creation and update times, export identifiers, whether an export is reserved, completed or canceled, and the Free or Pro plan used. These records enforce the 10-export Free allowance; clearing browser storage does not reset it. A pending export reservation stops counting after two hours. Short-lived request counters also limit public imports and downloads, as described above.

Where Stripe setup is enabled, the database also stores the Stripe customer reference and short-lived checkout references. Your email and site account identifier are sent to Stripe to create your billing customer. Verified billing events can update a server-side subscription status record. Event receipts store the event ID, event type, Stripe customer reference and timestamps without card details or the raw payload; receipts older than 30 days are removed when new events are processed. ClippyTag does not store full card details. Account and completed-usage records remain in the preview database until removed by the operator; this preview has no automatic account-deletion or retention schedule.

Payments

Checkout is not active in this preview. Once enabled, Stripe hosts the payment page and billing portal. Subscription status is checked by the server; a return URL never grants Pro access by itself. Stripe processes payment and billing information according to its own privacy notice. Test mode does not charge real money.

Hosting, cookies and advertising

ChatGPT Sites and its infrastructure process requests and connection information to host, authenticate and secure the service. Sign-in may use platform authentication cookies. Advertising placements are prepared but paid network ads are not currently activated. No advertising tag loads while this configuration is inactive. If approved Adsterra ads are enabled, an optional advertising preference asks before loading third-party ads. Declining leaves the free tools available; “Advertising preferences” lets you withdraw permission and removes the ad frames. A choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days. Allowing ads can share your IP address, device and browser information with the ad provider and its partners, and their content may use cookies or similar storage. Withdrawal prevents further ad loads but does not erase data already received by those providers. Signed-in Pro accounts do not receive these homepage ads. No ad network code runs inside the editor. Provider details and the completed privacy disclosures must be reviewed before activation. ClippyTag currently includes no analytics tracker. Browser storage is also used for the signature, and optional caption models may be cached.

Data requests and public launch

Where applicable, data-protection rights include access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and a complaint to a supervisory authority. Signed-in users can download their stored account and export records from the account page. The operator must provide a working contact channel, identify the relevant purposes and legal bases, and document retention and international-transfer arrangements before accepting public users. Those public-launch details are not yet finalized in this beta preview.

ClippyTag does not sell uploaded clips or use them to train a model. Always use content you own or have permission to process.
