TikTok download not working
Use a link to one supported public video. Private, deleted, restricted and unavailable posts cannot be retrieved. Photo collections, slideshows, stories and live streams are not supported. No account is needed for the downloader.
If the provider is busy, wait and retry. If a download stalls, cancel and try again on a stable connection. Downloads are limited to 150 MB and short-term request limits apply. If one post fails, try a different public video to distinguish a source problem from a connection problem.
On iPhone, use Safari and follow the Files and Photos guide. The download result includes an alternate direct MP4 link. This is a source download, so ClippyTag does not re-encode it or add its own mark.
Export, formats and missing audio
The editor accepts MP4, MOV, M4V and WebM files up to 150 MB and 3 minutes, but the browser still needs to decode the actual codecs inside the file. H.264 video with AAC audio in an MP4 is the most compatible combination.
Keep the page open and your phone awake. A compatible export can run at approximately the clip’s duration and may show a separate Start button. Tap it to grant the browser the user gesture required for audio and playback. Review the saved MP4 for sound before publishing.
If your browser cannot export all streams, use an updated browser or an H.264/AAC MP4. Changing a file’s extension does not convert its codecs. Free editor exports are limited to 1080p/30 fps. Original-resolution export does not turn a low-resolution file into genuine 4K.
Captions, signature and saved settings
Choose the actual spoken language before generating captions. Whisper Small is more demanding; Whisper Base is lighter for phones. First use downloads the selected model. Review the transcript for names, slang and overlapping speakers. The SRT button downloads editable subtitle text with timestamps.
Your signature and caption style are saved on this browser and device. Private mode, blocked storage or clearing site data can remove them. The downloaded clip transfer into the editor is also local, consumed on arrival and valid for up to 10 minutes. An abandoned transfer can remain in browser storage until replaced, consumed or cleared; it is never uploaded as a server clip.
Free exports and payment status
Import and preview are available without an account. Sign in with ChatGPT to export. Free includes 10 completed editor exports per account, total, with a ClippyTag mark. TikTok source downloads do not reduce this allowance. Failed or canceled reservations are released; interrupted reservations stop counting after two hours.
Pro is planned at €9.99 per month. Stripe sandbox resources are configured, but paid checkout is not active and no live subscription can be purchased. No specific card, wallet or local payment method is promised before checkout is activated. Check account and plans.
